Tonight's top story comes as a result of a NASA Director's recent comments regarding a program designed to create a space ship capable of taking humans to another planet, to begin colonization. The program revolves around the "100-Year Starship", which would fly the astronauts to another planet. One of the more interesting, and controversial aspects of the plan is the fact that the humans would likely never return to Earth, due to the time and resources it would take to simply get to the planet, even as "close" as Mars. What do you think? Would you volunteer to be one of the first to colonize a new planet, especially if it meant you would never see the loved ones you leave behind on Earth?

that's interesting!
ReplyDeleteI would never do it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. They can put me in a spaceship by myself and send me to Mars with enough food for 2 years. I would love to live there and do research. I would just need lots of water and food and constant supplies every 6 months. They could even send me vehicles so I could explore more!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd consider it, but if we're talking going to whole other solar systems where I'd have to spend a decade or several in a space ship I'd have to say no. Colonizing Mars would be a no brainer though, if we could figure out how to do it. I don't think the method used in Total Recall is going to work though.
ReplyDeleteill never go to space

ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd do it, but it's an interesting idea
